Apply & Register
Families complete four main steps before a student is officially enrolled at Strive Charter School.
Submit an Application
Complete your child's application through our SchoolMint enrollment portal.
Enrollment Lottery
Once the application is submitted, your child will be entered into our enrollment lottery.
Accept Your Offer
If your child receives an offer, sign in to SchoolMint and accept the available seat.
Complete Registration
Submit all required information and documents so your child's enrollment can be reviewed and approved.
Already received an offer?
Follow these steps to complete your child's registration in SchoolMint.
Sign In
Sign in to your existing Strive SchoolMint account.
Select Your Child
Open your child's profile from your SchoolMint dashboard.
Accept the Offer
Select the option to accept your child's lottery offer.
Click Register
Begin the registration process from your child's profile.
Complete All Sections
Enter the required information and upload all requested documents.
Submit Registration
Review your information and submit the completed registration.
After registration is submitted, our admissions team will review the information. Your child is officially enrolled once the registration has been processed and approved.
Family Orientation
Every family must attend one orientation session before their child begins the regular school year. Families will meet our teachers and leadership team, learn about the school year, ask questions, and help their child feel ready for Day One.
Preview Week update: Families who have already attended a Strive school tour or plan to attend the Saturday, August 29 Family Orientation may participate in Strive Preview Week.
Founding Families Week
A special week designed to help our Founding Families connect with the Strive community and prepare for the school year.
- Meet with your child's teacher in person, by phone, or on Zoom.
- Attend curriculum spotlight events and experience learning at Strive.
- Explore our enrichment programs and meet members of our staff.
- Ask questions and prepare your family for the school year.
Children must attend Founding Families Week activities with an adult.
Back to School Bash
We will wrap up Founding Families Week with a community celebration for current and incoming Strive families.

- Music and family activities
Additional event details will be shared with families.
Strive Preview Week
Preview Week gives students the opportunity to experience Strive before the official first day of school, meet classmates, practice daily routines, explore our programming, and participate in sample lessons and enrichment activities.
Flexible attendance: Preview Week is completely optional. Families may drop off and pick up their child at any time between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. There is no required arrival time or set dismissal time.
Who can participate?
Fully Registered
Students must have completed registration before participating in Preview Week.
School Tour or Saturday Orientation
Families may participate if they have already attended a Strive school tour or plan to attend the Saturday, August 29 Family Orientation.
Families are responsible for transportation during Preview Week. Students may attend for as much or as little of the day as works for their family. Strive will be closed Friday, September 4.
Free Transportation for Eligible Students
Free weekday bus transportation begins on Tuesday, September 8, the first day of school.
Transportation Eligibility
To qualify for free busing, students must live in the Bronx and reside more than 0.5 miles walking distance from Strive Charter School.
Busing Interest Form
We are currently creating neighborhood pickup and drop-off stops based on where our students live. Families interested in busing, please complete the interest form.
Monday–Friday
Bus transportation operates on weekdays during the regular school year. Busing is not available on weekends or during the summer.
Strive Students Only
Buses exclusively serve students attending Strive Charter School.
Support on Every Bus
A Strive Teaching Assistant will ride on every school bus.
Uniform Voucher for Registered Families
Families who complete registration will receive a $150 French Toast voucher to purchase approximately one week of Strive uniforms.

Strive combines a required Monday-through-Friday school day with free optional before-school, after-school, weekend, and summer programming.

Strive Sunrise
Our optional before-school program gives students a welcoming start to the day with breakfast, stories, movement, creative activities, play, and time to connect before instruction begins.
Required School Day
The required school program runs Monday through Friday from September through June, with strong academics, active learning, collaboration, and hands-on exploration.
Strive Beyond
Our optional after-school program includes enrichment, reading, arts, athletics, STEM, music, creative projects, play, and dinner.
Strive Explorers & Summer at Strive
Strive Explorers offers optional Saturday and Sunday programming with reading, enrichment, sports, creativity, play, and hands-on exploration. Strive also offers free full-day summer programming from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The school calendar, including required school days, closures, and optional programming days, is finalized and is not expected to change. Family events and school activities will continue to be added, and some event dates may be adjusted as opportunities arise. Families will receive updates as early as possible.
Beginning September 8, transportation, Strive Sunrise, Strive Beyond, and the required school-day program will be fully operational.

Movement, Music & Creativity
Sports, music, art, movement, and enrichment give students more ways to build confidence, express themselves, and discover new interests.
Fresh Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
All Strive students receive free breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared fresh at school. We work to accommodate individual dietary needs and restrictions.
